Helen is originally from Nottingham and moved to Milton Keynes to start her career training to be a Chartered Accountant with MacIntyre Hudson. It was whilst on secondment to the tax team that she found her passion for taxation.
Helen then moved to Chancery where she was promoted to partner, and eventually founded Essendon in 2014 with friend and colleague Roger Eddowes.
She helps her clients solve their tax problems, whatever they may be. She still remembers the first time a client thanked her, saying he could now check his letterbox each morning without dreading a brown envelope from HMRC.
Helen listens to her clients’ requirements and advises them based on their individual circumstances, there is no one size fits all when it comes to tax.
Where necessary, she works with accountants to understand the current situation for one of her clients, the pain that they have and always provides a tax-efficient solution.
Outside of the office Helen’s time is spent with her young son. She enjoys regular trips to the cinema and socialising with friends (when she gets the opportunity).
